Outline
We carry out chemical biology research under the general agreement between RIKEN and the Korea Research Institute for Bioscience and Biotechnology (KRIBB). Our team is collaborating with the Chemical Biology Research Center of KRIBB directed by Dr. Jong Seog Ahn on integrative research into bioactive compounds derived from microorganisms. The goal of this joint team is the discovery of drug candidate compounds through chemical biology research from chemical studies such as screening, isolation and structure determination to biological studies such as evaluation of biological activity and understanding the mechanism of action. Exchanges and long-term stays of researchers will promote the formation of human networks.
