Budget

ASI's budget revenue comes from government subsidies for operating costs and external funding such as grants-in-aid. While government subsidies total around 6.7 billion yen (FY 2011), external funds account for a signifi cant portion at roughly 5.0 billion yen (FY 2010). Research initiated with the creative ideas of individual researchers is primarily paid for with external funding.
